FAQ

Must I use the correct stroke order?

The matcher considers stroke direction, position and count. Clear writing in the usual order works best, although small differences can still produce matches.

Can it read a photo or a handwritten Korean sentence?

No. It recognizes one Hanja drawn on the pad and is not photo OCR or continuous handwriting recognition.

Are my pen strokes uploaded?

Not by default. Local matching runs in the browser. Stroke coordinates are sent to the online recognition service only when no local match is found or you choose to try it.
